Kerala Regional Chapter Awards 2023

The IIID Kerala Regional Chapter invites architects, interior designers and other design professionals to participate in IIID Kerala Regional Chapter Awards 2023 for Excellence in Design. Project should be located within Kerala. An eminent panel of design professionals will judge the entries on different parameters viz. originality, creativity, functionality, space planning, environmental responsibility, fidelity to client's brief and cost effectiveness.

The shortlisted entries will be presented at the Design Conclave scheduled to be held on

July 21st & 22nd 2023 at Hotel Crowne Plaza ,Cochin

The winners will be announced in a gala function which will be attended by the stalwarts of construction industry.

Young Practice of the Year

Award to Young Designers for consist - ently outstanding portfolio of interior design works. Designer not more than 35 years of age. Designer to submit 3 projects. Projects submitted under this category may be additionally submitted under any other suitable category.

Interior Design, Spacial design, etc which pertains to the finer aspects of design will be prioritised against macro level aspects of design. Choice of projects for the entry, presentation and narration should be based on these aspects.

Trade members along with designers can jointly participate.

Submission Guidelines

Participant should have their registered office in Kerala and the Principal should be a IIID member.

IIID members should not have membership subscription dues. Any person eligible for IIID membership can submit their entries after applying for a membership and submitting necessary documents. Apply Here

A participant/ firm can submit multiple entries in all categories. Please select a category and you will then be redirected to the payment gateway. A participant must login separately to submit each of his/ her entry

The signatory of the registration form is bound by the Award rules to attend the Awards Ceremony if his / her entry is short listed.

All submissions will be online and done in two parts -

Submission limited to Three nos. of A2 size jpg/jpeg (upto 5 MB each) panels in Landscape mode only with 1.5" strip to be left clear at the bottom. At right side of the strip you will have to put unique project ID number which will be sent to you in email along with upload link post successful payment. Kindly check your inbox/spam folders for email.

Panel No 1 should contain layout & relevant drawings & details with the USP of the project in not more than 150 words. The USP should be mentioned in top right hand corner of the panel.

Panel No 2 should contain project details, client brief & response to judging criteria

Panel No 3 should contain relevant colour photographs of the project

Context – description of immediate surroundings

Any other relevant information like technology, indigenous craft, sustainability aspects etc

Upload max 10 High resolution photographs and drawing of the project (up to 2 MB per image (300dpi)

The principal of the design practice shall be less than 35 years of age on the date of submission.

Must submit 3 Projects (Mandatory)

Each project must be presented on 3 A2 size Panels

1 A2 size Panel extra – with information on the design process the practice follows (to accompany each project)

Upload 4 A2 size panels (as jpg/jpeg images) – each up to 5 MB in size

Each Panel should be composed as below:

Panel No 1 - should contain layout & relevant drawings & details.

Panel No 2 - should contain project details, client brief & response to judging criteria

Panel No 3 - should contain relevant colour photographs of the project

Project details must include :

Design Concept + Context – description of immediate surroundings + Other relevant information and Fact File.

Fact File must include:

Project Size - in sq.ft

Location – city name only

Project cost in Rupees

Cost / sq ft in Rupees

Upload max 10 images of the project (up to 2 MB per image)

Jury

Interior Design, Spacial design, which pertains to the finer aspects of design will be prioritised against macro level aspects of design. Choice of projects for the entry, presentation and narration should be based on these aspects.

The Committee reserves the rights to publish the designs submitted as entries in any Indian Magazine, the winner and runner ups are refrained from publishing their works for the period of six months.

Young design practice participants need to submit proof and age along with the entry form.

Team of Jury members may visit actual place of short-listed entries. Participant should not have any objection for the Jury visit. Objection to this clause may tend to disqualification. Visit to actual place is subjected to Jury’s discretion. All the materiel submitted for the awards shall become the property of IIID - KRC and deemed to have the necessary publication release rights. It could also be used for the publicity purpose or exhibition purpose without further notification or clearance from the participants

The Jury will be in two stages

Stage 01

Short listing of entries by the panel of Jury members.

Stage 02

Public presentation by short-listed participants to Jury members.

Participants shall not mention Name of the Designer or Firm anywhere on the panel or on the sheets or in the photographs. The name should not be featured anywhere in the PPT presentation. Failure to do so will invite disqualification.

In category 10 the Principal of the Practice shall not be more than 35 years of age on or before 31-Jan-2023

The decision of the jury will be final and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained

The organizers / Jury reserve the right to withhold the award not deemed to meet the required standards in any category

All material submitted for the Awards shall become property of IIID and be deemed to have the necessary publication rights. It can be used for publicity / documentation purpose without further notification or clearance from participants concerned.

The Office Bearers of the National Executive Committee of IIID, the Awards Committee Members and directly associated with the Awards are not eligible to participate in the competition.

Names of all the winners/ runners up / certificate of merit will be announced during IIID-KRC Design Conclave.

It is assumed that all information given by the participant is factual. If found otherwise, the entry shall be disqualified & any awards/ certificate, if given will be forfeited.

IIID Awards does not check for any building rule violation and winning an entry does not by any means legitemisation of violation

The Last Date of Submission of entries is 11.00 pm on Wednesday, 5th July 2023.

Following guidelines, rules & regulations will be applicable and binding on all participants.
